Working it Out for Our Good

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

As a previous Principal I had many wonderful experiences, and then as with any profession or circumstances in life, those that weren’t so good. If you are an educator, you can relate to the day grades come out! I can recall during my early years as an administrator, all the principals were called to our Regional meeting…we were assembly around waiting, of course anxiety was high in the room- and the moment finally came, needless to say there were tears flowing..some from joy and some from sadness, and yes with a mindset of perseverance and hard work to do our very best insight, we all lived through the remainder of the year!

Certainly our experiences are varied and different, but for sure we all encounter the good and the bad! It  would appear that we are all on a level playing field if you will allow me to say…sort of like the proverbial hamster, running around the wheel-but not so my friend! In Matthew 5:45  we are reminded ” . . . for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

So, I ask you, where is your faith and trust in God- not just in the throngs of success and triumph…or in the valleys of despair and need of comfort and deliverance, but in all things?

Being born-again, makes all the difference-for the child of God there is peace and assurance that whatever God allows  it is intentional and is definitely working for our good!“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.

Oh my friend, do you believe these words from the Lord… “who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” God set things in motion before the foundation of the world! His only begotten Son…Jesus Christ our Lord came and paid the price for our sins…His resurrection has secured for all who believe in Him eternal life and a sure hope that is the anchor of our souls!

My friends, this is good news! It reminds us that God has only the best for those that love Him, and our lives are orchestrated by His divine will. Nothing happens during our lives that He does not have direct control over, we can trust in God. “Trust in Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

So, let us walk in peace and renewed hope each day, trusting in God’s amazing grace to keep us in and through it all. And when times get rough and we can not seem to see our way through…we just need to stop and pull out our faith reports, looking back to see how God has kept, sustained, and moved in every circumstance of your live for our good and His glory!

Meditate on this today… God is good, He is in control and we can rest assured that He is working it out for our good.

CeCe Winans sing these beautiful words in The Goodness of God:

‘Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God!
