Our Stabilizer

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.’ John 16:13

“In archery, a stabilizer is a general term for various types of weights, usually on rods, mounted on the bow to increase stability to lessen movement on release, thereby increasing precision to hit the target.”Wikipedia. In the life of the born-again believer, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit our comforter, guide, and stabilizer; He allows us to clearly see the enemy and to choose the paths that leads us to God’s divine purposes. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.’ John 16:13

Zechariah 4:6 state “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” An angel was explaining to Zechariah the work of the Spirit. God’s Spirit, moving and producing works or results in and through us; visible signs of God’s inspiration and involvement in our activities.

Life happens, we live in a fallen world where the enemy of our soul often causes spiritual instability; but we are only sojourners here. The power of the Holy Ghost keeps us anchored, stable and focused on our true target…that is Jesus! When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we receive the power, strength, and guidance to be overcomers; He empowers us to live faithful before God and our fellowman. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

Let us remember as Zechariah was admonished, that it is not by our own power or might…but by the Spirit of the Lord that we run this Christian race in victory; Praise be to God for the spiritual stability and rest that only He can provide! “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7.

God blessings and mercy be with you all.
