In the book of Acts chapter 12, we find the account of the apostle Peter being captured and placed into prison by Herod the King. He had killed James to frustrate the Church and now he intended to kill Peter as well. “And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)” Acts 12:2-3.
The scripture validates for us that God orchestrates all things according to His divine will and He lovingly hears the cries of His children, if we call, He will answer! While Herod decided that he would kill Peter; The saints were praying non-stop for his deliverance. Acts 12: 5 state “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.”
An angel appeared to Peter and guided him out of the prison that night; and when he came to the house where they were still gathered in prayer, a knock came to the door, but they did not believe the young girl when she stated it was Peter at the door, that seemed impossible.
