Growing in Grace

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

My mom would often say that we must grow in grace. Grace is undeserved favor. Grace is a sacrificial gift given to someone who has not earned it and cannot pay it back. So how do we grow in grace? It is through the untold blessings and riches of God that He alone bestows on His beloved children through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-24

Just a newborn babe we must desire and crave the sincere milk of the word and it nourishes us so that we grow towards maturity; It is only by the grace of God that we are able to grow more humble, holy, and self-denying: this is undeniably God’s work 1 Peter 2:2 state “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

As born-again believers when we stay steadfast before the Lord in prayer and seek His wisdom; we allow us to increase in His knowledge, and we grow thereby. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen”. 2 Peter 3:18

We can walk this journey of life in the blessings of His amazing grace and love when we obediently submit to His calling on our lives. The road is not easy, but the one who guides our footsteps will lead us in the paths of righteousness now and forever. He will grow us according to His divine will; it is our part to follow where He leads. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23

We are unable to see the end results…but God is forming us into the image of His dear Son, growing us in His grace “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Let us with thanksgiving and patience trust where He leads, as Job 27:10 state “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

To God be all the glory…may He give you all peace and joy throughout this day.
