Wake-Up Everybody

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

We teach our children the difference between right and wrong as soon as they can understand yes and no. As soon as my son began to walk and was able to touch the small what nots on my living room table… I would say, no, no, don’t touch that.  Of course, because he was a small child and curious…he would go back to it…even watching me with those big eyes to see what I would say…so after about three of four times, he would reach out and touch it; I would slightly tap his little hand and shake my head no…he would move away. Soon, he lost interest because he knew it was a no, no to mommy.

We live in a fallen world, allowed to be ruled by Satan until God calls time out. “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Revelation 12:12.

Satan deceived man into disobedience to the will of God in the Garden of Eden and he is still doing so today. So, what does that mean  for those who tend to believe because they are saved, they can sin and suffer no consequences at all?  I say to you…wake up! Yes, every born-again believer is saved and sealed until the day of redemption; but sin is still present in this present age. “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” Romans 6:11-12. God has given us a free will to make the decision between right and wrong.

Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes sung a song entitled…Wake-up Everybody; it denotes the negativity and hurtful sin that goes on in this world and how we can change our lives to make things better for the next generation. We all need to wake-up; we are held accountable for our choices in this life. Hatred, greed, jealously, malice, and all other immoral behaviors are the results of sin. Everybody…saved or unsaved that live in this flesh has the propensity to fall privy to such actions. Our archenemy, that formidable foe Satan, seeks to undermine and destroy the children of God!

Sin has consequences, God is love, is forgiving, and ever so merciful; but He is also just and hates all sin. If you are not born again, the bible state in Hebrews 10:31, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” He is strictly just and will inflict the punishment which ought to be inflicted. . . now is the time to come to salvation; Jesus is the only way to escape the consequences of eternal separation from God; and for those of us who are born-again believers, the scriptures teaches us that He chastises those whom He loves… sin when it is conceived brings death spiritually, physically or mentally…but, obedience brings blessings; so wake up everybody, no more sleepin’ in bed and falling for the great deception…God is real and He will deal with the injustice of this world. My senior pastor Rev. N. J. McClain, Sr. often says “Don’t go too far, don’t stay too long, and don’t let it be too late,” we will give and answer for our choices… let us pray to be found doing the will of God when He calls.

The good news is that when we are saved by God’s amazing grace, we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, our comforter, teacher, and guide. He produces fruit in us that gives us the power to fight against Satan’s landmines of sin until God calls us home; Galatians 5:22-23 state “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” We can overcome sin; “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.

Let us walk in the marvelous light of God, denouncing sin and making a difference in this dark world…as Harold Melvin and Blue Notes sung…Wake -Up Everybody:

Wake up everybody no more sleepin in bed

No more backward thinkin time for thinkin ahead

The world has changed so very much

From what it used to be so

There is so much hatred war an’ poverty

God blessings of grace be with us all to perform whatever duties He commands of us all this day!
