The Truth

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” John 16:13.

How do you really know that something is true? You have to get to the source of the information. . .  the truth is what guides us and keeps us living right before God and our fellowman. Every born-again believer has eternal life in the covenant of the gospel and indwelt with the Spirit of truth. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” John 16:13.

The truth: Our salvation is sure, a covenant is ratified by the by the blood of the sacrifice; Christ, the lamb of God, was the sacrifice that shed His blood on Calvary’s Cross, and resurrected on the third day morning, reuniting man back to God. We by the witness of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in heaven have eternal life because we have believed on the only begotten Son of God. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7.

The truth: We are overcomers in this world, whatever comes our way, because we possess the gift of eternal life. Let us then be thankful for the atoning work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4.

The truth: God grants us special privileges, innumerous spiritual blessings which He bestows on His beloved children . . . His workmanship. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.

The truth: Therefore, at this very moment and every single day of our lives we have the privilege to come before the Lord, our High Priest in prayer. We can cast all our cares and concerns at the foot of the cross… He provides, protects, and hears us when we call. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.

The truth: We have the petitions of anything that we ask Him, according to His will, He hears, and He will answer. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:15-16.

The truth: We are safe in His everlasting arms now and forever. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:28.

The Word of God is the truth and our guiding light. In it we have the prescription for abundant life; those of us who walk in and cling to the Word of God are promised a blessed in this life and in the life to come. So, let us hold fast to the word and follow the words of 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Blessing and peace to us all.
