Is it for the Glory of God?

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

The lyrics to a popular gospel song state “What if God is unhappy with our praise- what if He is not pleased with the words we say, and the way we live?” Our desire should be in seeking God’s good pleasure in all that we do, so that He alone gets the glory,

When we choose to serve God and not man, He knows the intent of every heart; the results are innumerable spiritual blessings that afford us the strength, comfort and peace to walk this journey called life by His divine providence… an ultimately, our hope lies in the everlasting inheritance that He has laid up for us in heaven; “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24.

As born-again believers, we must diligently keep in our hearts the knowledge of “whose” we are. We belong to God, His beloved children, His creation, and the sheep of His pasture; we work for His good pleasure and are called according to His purposes “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.

Let us strive to stay focused and on our knees in prayer; seeking God’s guidance and strength; humbling ourselves, allowing our words and actions to reflect the Christ that lives within us; then He alone will receive all the glory. Never forget it is not about us, but all about Him, the Alpha, and the Omega, Lord God Almighty. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.

Is God pleased with the way we live my friends, are we trying to please man rather than God-does He get the glory in all that we do? We must keep this question before us at all times…to Him alone belongs all the glory!

God blessings of peace, joy and discernment be with us always!
