Do it
“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5.
There are times when a dilemma arises at the most unlikely time, and usually there is no answer or cure insight. Those are the times that we run to the foot of the cross and seek an answer from the Lord; and sometimes He answers right away, sometimes He delays…but He always answers. Many times, The Holy Spirit leads us to do something in the meantime…the question is do we always listen and obey- and will we do it?
Jesus’ first miracle was done at a Jewish Wedding Feast in Cana of Galilee. His mother and the disciples were also present. As God would have it for His purposes, the wine for the feast ran out…His mother went straight to Him with the dilemma. Note that He answered her with what would appear to be a negative answer… “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.” John 2:4. Jesus was speaking of His eternal purpose and mission here on earth…but Mary’s actions, showed that she understood the power of her son.
Her attention immediately turned to the servants, John 2:5 state “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5. She was not caught up trying to decipher the spiritual connotation of His answer, knowing her son, and who He was…she knew He had the miraculous power to rectify the situation in whatever way He would choose to do it.
My friends, when we are familiar with God, have a relationship with Him…we too may not know what He will do to succor us, but we know that there is nothing impossible for Him to do…He will come through in His own time and in His own way.
This is where we must align ourselves in the will of God, oppose to our own will. When we pray and end our prayers in Jesus’ name…that is not some clique, but our faith and dependance on Jesus to act on our behalf according to His divine will. He knows what is best for His beloved children.
What are you praying for today- has the Holy Spirit led you in something specific to do? Then, as Mary told Jesus’ servants, “whatsoever, he said unto you, do it.”
God blessings of peace, protection and unspeakable joy be with us all.
