Thy Will Be Done
“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.
Have you stop to pray today-and did you conclude your prayer with “in Jesus’ name?” Ending our prayers in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is not some magical ending that makes things happen; it is the release of our wills to the perfect and loving will of God. So, Jesus taught His disciples to say ”Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.
How many times do we pray and ask God to work out our cares and concerns, to order our steps in His will, and then we try to orchestrate things the way we “think” they should go? It is just human nature to want to logically make things happen or see them from our perspective, with all good intentions…but God in His omniscience has the perfect plan for all of His beloved children.
When we pray, we must also listen to whatever the Holy Spirit has directed us to do… and then in obedience, just do it. God has a path for each of us to follow; and as my oldest sister Charlene says… let me just stay in my own lane.
The Word of God tells us that every born-again believer, walk by faith and not by sight; God leads the way…will we follow the One who knows the future- who is doing a new thing in each of His beloved children? No, we cannot see what the end is as of yet; but the bible teaches us in 1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” One day we will see Him face to face and we will know!
So, what shall we each render to God today? I pray that we humbly come into harmony with His will, knowing that He will perform whatever is needed to grow us spiritually towards maturity. God’s thoughts and ways are far from ours… Let us see through the eyes of faith, what His divine will is… the will of God is the safest place to be. “But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8.
Let us stay committed to following the will of God all the days of our lives; when God gives us a job to do…we just need to do it. Many times, we miss our blessings by rationalizing and assumably passing off what God has told us to do; absolutely no one can walk the path that He has laid individually for each of us… every mountain and every valley experience has a purpose; God has the master plan, and it is for our good and His glory. Job 23:10 state “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
My friends, our God is GREAT an ALMIGHTY… let us trust where He leads and mean it with all our whole heart and soul when we say, Thy will be done!
Blessings and peace to all!
