Consider One Another in Love
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:” -Hebrews 10:24
We often proclaim to be selfless in our dealing with others; but we get so caught up in the daily regime of self-preservation…what I need to get by-what I need to be happy, what I need to succeed, that everyone else unintentionally gets push to the wayside. As a result, the Word of God tells us in Matthew 6:33 (KJV) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
If you selflessly give to others, the blessings of God will come back to you in ways you could never imagine… Luke 6:38 states: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Sometimes a simple smile on a face…a true sincere smile that radiates with the peace of God can brighten a day and give someone hope along the way. As Christians we should be sharing the good news of salvation and God’s mercifulness in all that we say and do.
We must be consistent in prayer… rendering unto God prayers that lift those who are downtrodden, prayers that seek peace for the unrestful soul, prayers that send loving thoughts towards all men and most of all, prayers for strength to keep our hearts focused on the will of God.
It is heart wrenching to watch the consistent flow of news that is broadcast of injustice, bias, and blatant disregard for the very lives of our fellowman. These acts of selfishness are definitely not from the love of God. The world gravitates to darkness; Matthew 7:13 (KJV) admonishes us; “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”
Many are blinded from the truth and are being led straight into the ditch… can the blind lead the blind? NO! Yet they readily follow into destruction. The following verse in Matthew 7:14 states: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” This is the gate that we all must enter for salvation and true peace.
Those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our sovereign Lord will be held accountable for shining the light in this dark world. It is not okay to sit quiet to the underline plan of the enemy to try and destroy the lives of God’s loving creation of man. The Great Commission found in the gospels is a direct command for us to go out and spread the good news of God’s grace through Jesus Christ our Lord! “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19.
So, let us first be committed to the study of God’s Word, seeking to be equipped in ministry; utilizing our personal platforms as a beacon of light; write, sing, protest, speak up or whatever it takes to be an effective witness; considering the welfare of our fellowman, striving every day to forget about ourselves and concentrate on others in this busy walk of life.
Jesus is still calling us today to feed my sheep; a call to service for every born-again believer to help somebody along the way. “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:” –Hebrews 10:24

If I Can Help Somebody
If I can help somebody as I pass along,
If I can cheer somebody with a word or song,
If I can show somebody he is trav’ling wrong,
Then my living shall not be in vain.
If I can do my duty as a Christian ought,
If I can bring back beauty to a world up-wrought,
