Hold On!

“But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like and eagle; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.

This is a true saying, we are either going through something, coming out of something, or getting ready to go into something! God never promised that this road that we travel called life would be one of ease; But every born-again believer has the peace of knowing that God will take care of us in and through it all. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us that we can never go wrong when we bring everything to God in prayer! “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Prayer is one of the most valuable resources of the believer; when we come boldly before the throne of grace, pouring out the concerns of our hearts…He hears and will answer. “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” The answer is sometimes immediate or sometimes long coming. But if we just hold on…He is faithful to come through with an answer!

Waiting on the Lord takes patience; we often endure tough times as a good Christian soldier; but what God has promised is sure. The Bible tells us that God cannot lie! “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19. If God said it…that settles it!

He has the ultimate plan for our lives, and He holds every tomorrow safe and secure in His everlasting arms. In the midst of it all, God is setting us up for a blessing…we must do our part and wait on His divine timing. The Apostle Paul penned these words in the book of Romans 5:3-4 “and not only so, but we glory in tribulation also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope.”

We “glory” in tribulations…difficult and trying circumstances in our lives gives us the strength to persevere through things that we think are outright impossible to endure… but, when we lean and depend on the source of our strength… the Great I AM, we grow and become just a little bit stronger to run this race! “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13.

My friends, when we know without a doubt where God has brought us from, and that He alone is the One who has and will always makes a way out of no way, then we can tie a knot at the end of that proverbial rope and as the familiar hymn says, build our hopes on things eternal, and hold on to God’s unchanging hand. . .  He will come through! “But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like and eagle; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.

God blessings of peace, joy, comfort, and strength for this day!
