Our Constant Companion
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 14:26
Gratitude gets us to thinking about all the things that are going right in our lives oppose to dwelling on the less unfavorable ones. We can’t change the circumstance we encounter on this journey of life…but the choice to focus on the goodness of God and His innumerable blessings affects our outlook and attitude.
Of course, it is not a “piece of cake” to walk those detours in life that bring extreme challenges and devastating situations. God in His infinite wisdom and love has provided a Helper for all who will accept Him as their Sovereign Lord.
The Holy Spirit the third personage in the Holy Trinity, resides in the life of every born-again believer. “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 14:26. He comforts our hearts when we face loss or hurt and provides direction in our choices that align with the will of God; leading and guiding us in the word of truth.
In those difficult and unclear times when we are totally lost for words and have no idea which way to go or how to pray…He lovingly intercedes for us. “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27.
When we embrace and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can live with hope, peace and unspeakable joy . . . we can find confidence in the word of God that tells us “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord : and he delighteth in his way.” Psalms 37:23.
Let us choose to allow our Constant Companion to shine through all that we do; He will teach us how to walk by faith and not by sight; learning how to extend a caring hand or listening heart to our fellowman… making life’s journey a little brighter, not only for ourselves, but for all that we encounter along our way.
God blessings of grace and mercy be with us all.
This is awesome… thank you Vi!
