“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Revelation 5:12.

The word worthy can be defined as deserving of a specified thing; having the authority to possess or acquire. In the fifth chapter of Revelation, the apostle John’s vision is what appears an insolvable mystery. A book, with seven seals is unable to be opened…and no man was worthy to look upon or even open the book…eager for the truth and seemingly no way to obtain it, he wept “And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.”  Revelation 5:4.

The scene takes a drastic change from fear and hopeless wonder to encouragement and hope! The following verse states “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” Revelation 5:5. Christ the slain lamb of God, stood in the midst of the throne and He is worthy and has all authority!

Jesus our crucified Savior has all power, and He is worthy to loosen all things in Heaven, and on earth…all power belongs to Him; the scene becomes one of perpetual Heavenly praise… “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Revelation 5:11-12.

My friends, our Redeemer is worthy…He paid the price to reconcile us back to God… He is seated on the right hand of God’s throne; He reigns forever! Worthy is the Lamb! Let us fall before Him…thanking Him for enduring the cross and taking away our sins, only by His amazing grace are we overcomers in this world; and will one day live with Him throughout all eternity!

Hallelujah He is a Great God…let us shout it with all that is in us, worthy is the Lamb, Jesus the Son of God…our Savior and LORD! “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29. Let us also bow down in adoration to our Lord and King of Kings, thanking Him for the price that He paid…we are washed in the blood of the crucified Lamb of God, and He alone is WORTHY!

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” Psalm 150:6.
