“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23.

An occurrence can be defined as an event, episode, or incident that happens. There are those who are under the assumption that things in our lives just occur naturally without divine intervention. By faith in the sovereignty of Almighty God, I beg to differ. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3.

All things that concern us are predestined by the foreknowledge of God. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

God is able, willing, and waiting to order the steps of those of us who surrender our wills over to His divine providence. Psalm 37:23 state “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”  In obedience we must follow where He leads.

I experienced one of those aha moments when waiting some considerable time for an important appointment. There appeared to be no other option but to give it up for the day, aware that due to complications, the schedule was backed up for at least an additional hour.

I prayed for guidance, resolved to set another appointment; and not even a minute from my decision to leave, literally having one foot in the car and the other on the ground-a young woman came to the outside door and said is there a Ward here? Praise be to God, when God orders our steps, His divine will supersedes all things!

It may seem trivial to some, and just a simple occurrence; but when we know and love God, we walk by faith and not by sight; leaning on the everlasting promises of the One who commands even the winds and the waves to obey His will… and by His divine providence, He will faithfully lead us in the paths that we should go. “Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.” Psalm 73:24.
