Little Becomes Much
“There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9.
Have you ever been down to your last penny and did not know how you would make ends meet-and then miraculously God made a way out of no way? The disciples found themselves in a comparable situation wondering how to feed a multitude of men, women, and children.
When Jesus inquired about how to buy bread so that they all could be feed, Andrew answered: “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9.
What happened next is a testimony to the power of Almighty God and His ability to provide far beyond all that we need. “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” John 6:11-12. Not only did Jesus multiply the meager meal that the child had and feed the multitude, but there was food left over!
Are you down to your last today, contemplating how to find a way to put food on the table-gas in the car, pay the bills, purchase the school clothes, or possibly meet the college tuition? Then cast your cares on the Lord, He can handle this too… little becomes much in the Master’s hands.
Paul admonishes us to remember that our storage is never empty “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19. When God blesses and provides for His beloved children, like Elijah and the widow woman, our bowls will never run dry! “And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.” 1 Kings 17:16. God is sovereign and there is absolutely nothing impossible with Him, trust Him to provide for all that you need!
God’s blessings of mercy and love keep you all!
Yes this is so true. Little becomes much when you place it in God’s hands.
