Settled in My Heart
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10
There are just somethings that we must settle in our hearts. God provides peace that surpasses all human logic…He alone keeps our minds through Jesus Christ our Lord. So, here are a few assurances that I have settled in my heart that provides me with assurance of His amazing grace each day. I am sure you can add more:
- God in His omniscience knows everything there is to know about me. It is Him that has formed me from my mother’s womb. Jeremiah 1:5 state: “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
- He is omnipotent, sovereign and can do all things. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1: 37. Today I choose to trust and rest in His loving care, and I will forever put my trust in Him. “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” Nahum 1:7.
- To Him belongs all the glory and honor. “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” I Chronicles 29:11.
- God has a divine plan for my life and guides me in the path of righteousness. “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133. In times of trouble, I can run to the foot of cross and find safety for my weary soul! “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
- He is unchangeable. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8. God is omnipresent and will never leave me! Hebrews 13:5 admonishes us “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”.
We can rest in the blessed assurance that He is nearer than the very air that we breathe… God is our constant companion, and we are safe in His everlasting arms!
