Comfort in the Word

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105.

We have all faced giants in our lives at one time of the other, but praise God it is a blessing to know that in the darkest of hours, we can cling to the assurance of His word. The word of God shines the light of His amazing grace in every situation we have and will ever encounter.

So, here are just a few scriptures and thoughts that readily come to mind as I seek His comfort through the trials of life; hopefully you too will turn to the scriptures to find strength for this journey ahead:

Phil. 4:13–I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Valley experiences can seem insurmountable; but, by God’s grace we can follow His leading. He knows what is best for us regarding His will.

Proverbs 3:5-6-Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

It is imperative that we place full trust in the Lord, regardless to what the situation may appear to be …we can depend on God!

Psalm 46:10 – Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

This is where we must stop, be still and listen to God…He is sovereign and in control of all things!

Psalm 46:1– God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

In this knowledge we can find comfort and peace to weather the storms of life! He will give us strength and power to stay the course according to His divine will, even in the midst of the deepest sea!

2 Corinthians 12:9   And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

To this verse I can only say…HALLELUJAH! Everyone’s course is not the same…but God’s grace is sufficient to fit every need that we have…He will sustain and give us strength to endure forever!

And finally, we have the assurance of a blessed life when we stay in the word Psalm 1:1-2 state “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

My friends, God has given us sixty-six books of the greatest love letter ever written…search the scriptures for all that you need, for in them you will find comfort and rest for your very souls.

Blessing and God’s peace be with us all!
