For the Glory of God
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
The lyrics to a popular gospel song state “What if God is unhappy with our praise- what if He is not pleased with the words we say, and the way we live?” Our hearts desire should be in seeking God’s will and good pleasure in all that we do, so that it is for the glory of God alone.
God knows the intent of every heart; and when we choose to walk in obedience to His will and not the world, He will get all the glory. It is by His divine providence that we receive the strength, comfort, and peace to walk this journey called life.
Is God pleased with the way we live my friends, are we trying to please man rather than God-does He really get the glory in all that we do? We must always keep these questions before us…He alone deserves all the glory! “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31.
Let us humble ourselves before Almighty God, striving each day to stay focused, steadfast in prayer; allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our words and actions to reflect the Christ that lives within us; then and only then will He alone receive the glory. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
For Your glory
I will do anything
Just to see You
To behold You as my King
