Our Constant Companion
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 14:26
Gratitude gets us to thinking about all the things that are going right in our lives oppose to dwelling on the less unfavorable ones. We cannot change past circumstances that we have encounter on this journey of life…but we can choose to focus on the goodness of God and His innumerable blessings. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8.
Of course, it is not a “piece of cake” to walk the detours in life that bring extreme challenges and devastating conditions; but God in His infinite wisdom and love has provided a constant companion for all who will accept Him as our Sovereign Lord.
The Holy Spirit the third personage in the Holy Trinity, resides in the life of every born-again believer, keeping us safe and secure until the day of redemption. “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 14:26.
He comforts our hearts when we face loss, hurt and even in things that may appear to be hopeless; but there is hope in God! He provides direction in our choices, and leads us in paths of righteousness, guiding us in the word of truth which strengthens and grows us into the likeness of our dear Savior. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.
In life’s most difficult and unclear times, when we are totally lost for words and have no idea which way to go or even how to pray…the Holy Spirit is right there, succoring, keeping us safe; and most importantly interceding on our behalf to be found in the will of our Heavenly Father! “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27.
My friends, when we embrace and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we receive the blessings of hope, peace, and unspeakable joy . . . we can trust in the faithful promise of God that all is well… “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13:13.
So, let us choose to lean on the everlasting arms of our Constant Companion; He will teach us how to take one day at a time, while learning to live in the miraculous sustaining power of God’s grace and His comforting love. Yes, Jesus loves us my friends, and He will be with us through the end!
God blessings of love, comfort, and peace be with us all!
