Walking in Power or Pity?

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11.

Someone once said, “getting old is not for the fragile minded!” of course the focus of their mindset was on the aches and pains that the process of aging, no matter how fit you are can bring. And there are those who unfortunately slip deep into despair when facing debilitating illnesses; or when just simply facing the reality of how getting older changes that once youthful mind and body. But those who know and walk with the Lord can hold to the comfort and knowledge that in His presence is fulness of joy! “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” Psalm 16:11.

A defeatist attitude is a direct attack from the enemy of our souls … he desires to make us fret and forget how truly blessed we are; with age and difficult circumstances also comes an appreciation for life through wisdom, grace and unspeakable joy that only comes from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit! “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

But if by chance you have fallen on the wayside of life momentarily- just a slight change in perspective can get any wayward mind back on track, remember the adage “I complained about not having any shoes, until I saw the man that had no feet.” The point, there are millions of people who wish they were in your shoes at this very moment! “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Proverbs 17:22.

We can choose to be pitiful or powerful; to live each day is a blessing from Almighty God, aging is a benefit not given to many; God’s amazing grace keeps us day by day. “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

It is a wonderful feeling to know, whether we have reached twenty-six or ninety-six, that we are cared for, provided for, and given the strength to run our race by the One who has all power and will never leave us nor forsake you! “And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20b.

God’s amazing grace has allowed as to see one more day, know that He will provide all the grace that we need to face every situation, whether it be physical, spiritual, mental or financial…God’s got this and He is always working behind the scenes, He has great plans for all of His beloved children… our daily prayer should be as the scripture state “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133.

Are you willing to let go and let God keep you in perfect peace? Then, give God the glory in and through all things and live this day in His power and strength; seeking to be a light to others …remember, everybody is going through something, the difference is the One who holds us safe in His everlasting arms; when Jesus is the rock of our salvation, our guiding light, and our hope for every tomorrow; we can rest in the promises of His word “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.

Blessings for a wonderful day, chose to walk in power and not pity…God’s grace is sufficient
