The Master Craftsman
“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.” Jeremiah 18:4.
Those who are skilled at a specific art form or craft often make changes throughout the entire process, the workman carefully molds the object into the desired outcome. God is the Master Craftsman of our lives; He is constantly molding and making us into just what He wants us to be!
Have you ever messed up in life and prayed, “Lord, why is it, that I just can’t get it right- I want to walk worthy of your calling?” I am not sure about you, but I have…and the Holy Spirit gently reminds me that I am not in charge, even during my own failures…God is molding and making me after His way from start to finish. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6.
God who is so loving and merciful, provides the comfort and assurance to all His beloved children…that He is the Master craftsman. In Jeremiah chapter eighteen, God sent Jeremiah to a potter’s house to receive a word…there He showed Jeremiah the working of the potter, as he fashioned an object, it became marred, and he simply made it into another vessel. “And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.” Jeremiah 18:4.
What was the message? Regardless to what shape we may find ourselves in… we are in the Master hands, and He is molding us according to His divine will, the scripture validates that He has and will always be in charge of our lives- Jeremiah 18:6 state. “O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.”
This journey called life isn’t one of ease, we fall down and praise God we get up- so don’t be so hard on yourselves… we are a work in progress- and He tries us by fire…constantly purifying and molding us into perfection. Job 23:10 put it like this “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
So, if your situation has turned upside down today, or you are broken hearted; just do a 360 degree turn in your mind, think of how many times He has delivered you, and broken chains that may have had you bound…He is working all things out in our favor, ordering every single step–there is a blessing on the other side of through; He is the author and finisher of our faith… leading, guiding and loving on us…and it is well- and to that we can say “Thank You Lord for your keeping power, love, and all that you have done and will do!
God blessings of peace, love, and amazing grace be with us all!
