Trust in the Lord

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

At an incredibly early age heading off to college a pastor and dear friend wrote Proverbs 3:5-6 on a note and told me to keep its meaning deep in my heart wherever I went. To this day it is one of my favorites. When I am despondent or concerned it grounds me to God and His omnipotence. In my spirit I hear these words “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

Trust is the act of placing all your belief and hope in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength in something or someone. Life can send us down some pathways that we have no human idea how to walk; yet we who believe and know that God is our sovereign Lord, trust in His truth, power, and faithfulness.

We are walking in perilous times. Senseless and unexplained killings, with no rationale as to why; leading to numerous innocent victims leaving loved ones with heavy hearts; and someone said that the rich just get richer, and the poor get poorer- it certainly is evident as we witness the inability for many to receive proper health care, food, and a decent place to live, the rise in homelessness and inflation; of course the list does not end there…but my friends all is not lost, we have hope in God! “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.

Even though there are many who have no fear of God and no regard for life; let us remember that they are led by the archenemy of our souls and his demonic forces; Satan readily uses those who seek their own selfish desires for whatever their current “fix” is for drugs, sex, money, political gain that comes at any cost. Truly, where there is no God, there is no peace, but with God we have a peace that goes far beyond what we can humanly understand. John 14:27 reminds us “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

We are in a spiritual warfare; and we know that where the human spirit fails, the Holy Spirit must prevail; prayer changes things and it is imperative that every child of God bombard Heaven’s door without ceasing. “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12.

Let us faithfully place our trust in the Alpha and the Omega, the One who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent…He has the ultimate plan for this world; please know that He is not sleeping and surely not dead! we can rely on His unconditional love to see us through whatever life sends our way. If we are to live in peace and hope in this life; He is the only One who can provide the protection, peace, and sense of civility that we need now and forever.

Allow these words of scripture to resonate deep within your heart, we have a blessed hope of peace, and deliverance through Jesus Christ our Lord! “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesian 3:20.  God is able…regardless to what we may be facing or will face this day, we can trust in Him; He is faithful and will come through every single time!

Blessings, peace, and protection for a great day ahead.
