The Goodness of God
The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145:9.
It is a true blessing to write and witness about the goodness of God. There is nothing better than knowing that you are kept safe in the hands of the Almighty. Langston Hughes penned these words Life for me ain’t been no crystal staircase… my friends, no one ever promised us that our way would be easy, but the amazing grace and goodness of God continues to keep all of His beloved children in the safety of His arms. “The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145:9.”
The Book of Mark chapter four gives us an account of the disciples in deep trouble traveling across the sea of Galilee…a great storm arose, and it appeared as if they would surely perish “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” Mark 4:37-38. But God…the Master of the sea was on board “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39.
Could you possibly be in a perilous predicament or just came out of one… is your heart heavy with the cares of this world- who’s on board of your ship- is it the One who calmed the Sea of Galilee for the disciples, and is able to heal, keep, and deliver all those who commit the keeping of their souls unto Him?
Know that when Jesus is the captain of our souls, we can witness to His goodness and mercy…yes, we face challenges in life- and the way seems mighty dark sometimes, but He is the Alpha and Omega- the One who makes a way out of no way, the One who has all power.…and my friends, when I look back over my life …I cannot help but testify to the goodness of God…He never fails! “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.
Praise God that every born-again believer can rest in His goodness and mercy forever, David wrote in the 23rd Psalm verse six: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”
So, this day, this moment, if God has been good to you, be a witness-tell it everywhere you go, that we can trust in His faithfulness and cast all our cares before His throne of grace, and He will deliver! “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19.
God is good, rest today in His amazing grace and love!
