Our Burden Bearer
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”” Matthew 11:29-30.
There are times when we may feel as though as soon as we encounter one thing, another comes right through the door superseding the first one. It appears that there is just no end in sight… but I stopped to tell you today, that we have a burden bearer, and His name is Jesus, His divine power is what lightens the load that weighs heavy deep down in our souls. The word of God admonishes us to “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”” Matthew 11:29-30.
All born-again believers are warriors in the army of the Lord, whether in BCT (Basic Combat Training) or AIT (Advance Individual Training) we have been “picked out to be picked on;” my friends, we are engaged in a spiritual warfare and Satan is the archenemy of our souls. Don’t ever forget that his main objective is to rob, kill and destroy us anyway that he can, in fact he takes pleasure in trying to destroy our witness and discourage us from being shining lights in this dark world. . . but praise be to God, we are more than conquers through Jesus Christ our Lord- we are equipped and clothes with all that we need! Corinthians 10:4 state “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
God knows us one by one, and exactly what is best for each of us. How could we truly appreciate the good times, if we forego experiencing the undesirable and painful ones- and how can you witness to the amazing grace of God if you have no knowledge of it? God has the masterplan and is molding us according to His divine will, So, stand strong, recognizing that we are just a work in progress! “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:3-5.
It’s a spiritual growth process and God is teaching us to live and walk this Christian journey by faith… though the road is definitely rough and ragged sometimes…. God will never leave us-nor forsake us; His mercy endures forever! “For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 117:2.
So, what lightens the load and makes this race so much easier to run? We can trust in God’s faithfulness and His omnipotence to carry our heavy load. Matt. 11:28 state “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
No, we have no earthly idea about what tomorrow will bring, just how some things will work out . . . but we do know who loves us, orders our steps and holds every tomorrow in His powerful hands. Just remember, that when the load bear down so heavy, the Lord will make a way somehow:
The Lord will make a way somehow, when beneath the cross I bow,
He will take away each sorrow, let Him have your burdens now;
When the loads bears down so heavy the weight is shown upon my brow,
There’s a sweet relief in knowing the Lord will make a way somehow.
Blessings and of grace and peace be with us all.
