I Am So Satisfied
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46.
I am so satisfied with my Savior, He means more to me than anything, Anything that this world could ever offer me… beautiful lyrics from a familiar gospel hymn entitled, So, Satisfied by Luther Barnes. The world offers many selfish desires; but none truly satisfy the soul. God’s grace and unconditional love is more than we can even imagine and yes, I am so satisfied for how He cares for me…but oh Lord, is He satisfied with me?
The word my is a possessive pronoun…it denotes ownership- the song states my Savior– referencing the One who gave His very life for me, and I have accepted Him as my Lord-the One who has authority over my life. Yes, I am so satisfied with my Savior, but is my Savior satisfied with me? “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” Luke 6:46.
Do we really seek to please God…the scripture teaches us that we were created for His good pleasure. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13. my friends, we are to work-out our soul salvation…we are not forced or demanded but lead by the Holy Spirit to align with the will of God.
How then can we be pleasing in the sight of our Lord? Romans 12:1-2 gives us clear directions . . . “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Through His perfect love God has made us new creatures in Christ…we no longer walk in the darkness, but in the light!
Let us all stop and take introspection of how we show our response to God’s love for us and others…be careful, the things that you do, say, and feel in your heart about others…for what we do to others…we do to God…why, because saved or unsaved. we are all His creation.
How can we satisfy our Savior – LOVE “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbors as thyself.” Matthew 22:37-39.
May God help us to love one another; treating all men with grace, and compassion…thinking twice before we speak, or act, helping someone who may have fallen on the wayside of life… and to give selflessly of our time, talents, and treasures!
God blessings and peace be with us all.
