Are You Sure?

“Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Matthew 11:2-3.
Decision making is just a normal part of life, some small and some totally life changing. We wake up and decide what we will have for breakfast, wear, and even outline our activities for the day. The Road Not Taken is a poem written by Robert Frost, it tells of a traveler’s perplexity in which direction to go. In the final analysis, he decided to take the road less traveled. The last stanza reads:
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
The greatest decision that we can make in life is the state of our eternal existence. It is a fact that God created us living souls. He will return for our souls one day, and where will we spend eternity? “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
It is a choice between eternal life or eternal damnation; it is vital that we are sure that you know what you know! John the Baptist, whom Jesus said of “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” Matthew 11:11; even he needed to make sure that Jesus was really the promised Messiah. “Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Matthew 11:2-3.
Just as John the Baptist, who was the forerunner of Christ and proclaimed Him to be the Lamb of God, sought to be sure at those crucial moments before being executed, that his Lord was truly the Savior of the world; we must also be sure our salvation, it is the greatest decision that we will make in this life.
Eternal life is a gift from God; Those who have not believed on Him as the only begotten Son of God, will live in eternal damnation. It is imperative that the lost choose everlasting life today . . . “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20.
To those who are saved by the amazing grace of God; we have a job to do, telling this dying world of our Savior. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20.
Let us be faithful to our calling in pointing others to the road less traveled. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
God bless and keep you in the safety of His arms now and forever!
