Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1.
Apprehension about what’s next when you are in a circumstance beyond your control is a natural human response…the heart sinks and troubled thoughts of where do I go, what will happen if or when? Such are the thoughts of the disciples as Jesus prepared to leave them to face the cross, but He gently comforts them with these words “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1.
The book of Job certainly reminds us of the human condition to experience troubles in this life; “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” Job 14:1. There is no exception to our own troubles; we are either experiencing something at this very moment, been there in the past, or headed there soon. But, to God be the glory…every borncan-again believe can trust in the comforting words of our Savior, who promises to never leave us nor forsake us…He is closer than the very air that we breathe!
Wherever you are at this moment, know that God is a very present help in trouble this morning- He is the comforter, healer and lover of our souls; and He bids us to come boldly before His throne of grace and cast all our cares on Him. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
My friends, trust in God; Jesus knows, He cares, and He loves you. Even in the darkest hour of the night…He is the light at the end of the tunnel… our ever-lasting hope “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5.
Rest in the assurance that all is well, the disciple’s whole world literally was crushed in front of their eyes in the following days…their Lord had been taken away, crucified; but, the scripture doesn’t stop there… Jesus got up out of that grave on the third day morning with all power…and the bible gives evidence in the book of Acts 2:1-2 that His promises are faithful and true…for just as He provmised the Comforter came and the same Holy Ghost power lives within us now and forever! “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”
I am here to also testify that we can hold on to our hope in God…He has and will deliver from whatever circumstances that trouble our hearts… He is faithful and true, the Great I AM, our all and all.
Trust in His loving care and consider these words in your heart “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”Psalm 23:4. You are safe, safe in His everlasting arms!
God blessings of comfort, unfailing love and peace be with you all.
