Be Blessed!

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2.

Every born-again believer desire to be blessed and highly favored of the Lord. God’s word gives us a conditional clause in Psalm 1:1-2 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”If we “walk” follow and delight ourselves in the law of God, then we will receive the promise- to be blessed!

Let us ask ourselves the hard questions, how am I living-who am i allowing to influence my decisions and walk on this Christian journey beside me? The word of God tells us, point blank that we are to avoid the counsel of the ungodly man, sinners, and contemptuous individuals; or the like…for their hearts are not aligned with the will of God. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to discern the spirit of another- “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1.

Following down that pathway is a collision course…and will only render us ineffective witnesses for the Lord. Proverbs 27:17 admonishes us “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” As my mom would say…association, brings about assimilation-watch who you are hanging-out  with!

But, when we commit ourselves to the law of the Lord, His commandments, staying in His word…seeking, asking, and meditating on what is right according to His divine counsel, the results are spiritual and temporal blessings beyond our greatest imaginations.

What does your prayer and bible study time look like today- are you connected to other faithful saints who are on fire about following the truth and growing in the word of God-do you hold these words dear to your heart, I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord?

I admonish you to spend more time with the Lord and He will bless your life; He never promise that the road would be easy…but as David wrote in the 23rd Psalm, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Hallelujah! He is faithful and true…God’s got a blessing with your name on it!

So, remember the promises of God…and be blessed! “This book of the law shaltl not depart out of thy mouthto; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:.8.

God blessings and peace and grace to all.
