Input and Output

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
If you are old enough to remember, for me it was in the early 80’s the idea of utilizing the computer and writing flowcharts centered around two words: input and output. Computers are phenomenal sources of technology; but the truth is you must input data into your computer for processing; otherwise, there is no output to receive. Obviously, we can gain all kinds of information from numerous sources, however, we must channel in the right information to get the results we expect.
What about the thoughts and messages that we receive spiritually- what are we letting in daily- what kind of literature are we reading, music that we choose to listen to, or even conversations we engage in with others? The scripture tells us exactly what we need to input to expect peace, love and good will as productive outputs “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8.
The enemy of our souls is on his job to destroy our hearts, minds and witnesses anyway possible. It is imperative that we watch what we let into our thoughts. It has been said many times that and idle mind is the devil’s workshop…just when you least expect it, he will send subliminal messages of anxiety, distrust, fear, unbelief, an inadequacy among other negative thoughts- straight to our minds… I call them landmines; deadly devices set up to kill or maim us!
Let us stay vigilant, seeking those things from above; meditating and reading the word of God, engaging in worthy conversations and actions that give God the glory. God never meant for us to live in this world without enjoying it; but He desires that we follow His precepts and guidance on this journey home. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16.
Satan is a formidable foe, but God wins every time! Praise God that He has greater things instore for His beloved children; since the foundations of the world, by His foreknowledge, He has predestined us to be saved by His amazing grace!

My friends, it is the input of the Holy Spirit guides and keeps us until the day of redemption, the output is yet to be seen but we know that it will exceed our greatest imagination… “But as it is written,Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man,The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

God blessings and stay focused!
