Never Forsaken

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25

Have you ever just taken note of a child of God- the life that they lead and somehow God always miraculously provides for them? I suffice it to say that you would have to agree with David in Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

God is faithful, He has promised never to leave us nor forsake any of His children…does that mean that we will never experience sickness, suffer lack at times, or have earthly friends forsake us? Absolutely not! What it does promise is that whatever our lot is in life; God orchestrates every circumstance that we encounter, and He is working it all out for our good in the final analysis.

I have lived long enough to tell you that experience is the best teacher; I have seen God come through during what appeared totally impossible situations in my life, and even the life of my child and his children. . . just when you would think that all is lost, God steps in and provides, heals, feeds and comforts. “For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:5.

The life of Job is one of the greatest examples in scripture, he lost everything that he had, except his life…God allowed Satan to remove those things from an upright and just man “And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” Job 1:8.

Satan thought then, just as he does now; that if the temporal things of this world are removed from us…we will curse God and die…but that is not the case when we belong to the One true and living God…nothing and no one can thwart the plans that God has for His children. “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters.” Job 42:12-13.

So, wherever you are at this moment, if you need healing in your body, food in the fridge, gas in the car, bills to be paid, a wayward child or spouse to come back home – or just true peace of heart and mind – God is still working behind the scenes; He will provide exactly what you need when you least expect it! “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” Matthew 6: 31-32.

He gives us strength, peace, and the comfort in knowing that He is omnipotent and that we and all other things in this world move by His divine power. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, and we can trust in His faithfulness all the days of our lives . . . “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrew 13:5.

God blessings and amazing grace keep you always!
