God is Preparing Us for Something Greater!

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17.

There is absolutely nowhere that we have read that in this life the sun would shine always; the rain falls on the just as well as the unjust. The book of Job gives us an astounding testimony to the divine providence and amazing grace of God in the lives of His children-He is preparing us for something far greater than the natural eye can see! “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”2 Corinthians 4:18.

Just as Satan was allowed to touch Job in every way except his life, he is still constantly working  to defeat the beloved children of God on every hand. And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.”  Job 1:12.

God has a divine plan and has providence over all things. Nothing and no one can thwart God’s holy plan for our lives. The bible states that Job was an upright man, one who feared God and very prosperous. God allowed him to endure great afflictions. He loss all of his children and possessions; but Job remained steadfast and waited on God. Job 13:15 state “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”

Job’s friends, even his wife, gave him up for a lost cause…but God was working it out in his favor! Job 42:12 state “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” God gave Job twice as much as he had previously; you cannot beat God’s giving and He will always reward His children for being faithful.

We may not be able to always understand the way that God is leading us; especially when the way seems dark, treacherous, and outright impossible…but remember, these things are only momentary; He’s preparing us for something greater!  “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17.

My friends. God’s amazing grace makes all the difference; it gives us the strength to endure whatever the toils of life may bring our way…  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Praise be to God…Let us choose to stand in His power and not in the defeatist attitude of the enemy. “For we walk by faith, not by sight, ” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

God’s blessings of peace, comfort, and love to all!
