We Can Depend on God!
“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalm 73:26.
Question, is there any trials or tribulation that you encountered thus far in life that you were not able to overcome, or any task that you have had to accomplish that God failed to provide the knowledge, wisdom and strength to complete? I am not sure how you choose to answer, but for me that is a resounding absolutely not!
I am here to tell somebody this today that there is no failure in God…we can depend on the faithfulness and goodness of God! “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23.
Difficult circumstances in life can throw us a curve ball sometimes…or just things that appear beyond our ability to complete…but praise be to God, regardless to what we have to face or what task we are given to accomplish… His amazing grace gives us strength that we need day by day!
Every born-again believer knows and has experienced the unfailing love of God towards us, beginning with salvation…this should bring joy to our hearts and hope for every tomorrow. Scripture gives these words of comfort to the weary and wounded soul “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9.
And, praise God, we have a great cloud of witnesses that have gone on before us, their lives are still testifying to what God can and will do. “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1.
Just stop a moment and think, they endured things we could never even imagined, Hebrews 11:37 tells us that “They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;” yet, in the midst of all these things, through the power of Almighty God, they were victorious.
And here are a few names that surely will bless your heart!
Gideon who was accounted to be a mighty man of valor and by the power of God delivered the Israelites out of the hands of the Midianites by three hundred men! Judges 7:7 states “And the LORD said unto Gideon, by the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were the three Hebrew boys who withstood a fiery furnace and walked out unharmed “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Daniel 3:24-25.
And above all Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the ultimate example…He raised the dead to life and performed innumerable miracles that manifested the glory of God and He got up early on the third day morning with all power in His hands to which every born-again believer is a witness. “And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.” Mark 16:5-6.
So, let us be of good cheer, knowing that whatever our lot or task may be this day… we can wholeheartedly cast all our cares on the Lord; for truly we can depend on God! “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalm 73:26,
Blessings and peace for a magnificent day ahead!
