BE STILL and Know that I AM GOD!

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

You fall to your knees and you plead for God to search your heart,  show you the way that He would have you to go-fill your mind, and your very soul with His Spirit…creating a clean heart within…and suddenly a small still voice inside says-“Be Still and know that I aim God!” and you know that everything will be alright!

Wherever you are on this journey called life my friends, remember that God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. We can depend on His divine protection and provision now and forever; therefore, we can face today and every tomorrow trusting in His divine will…sure of this one thing- And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.

The tenth verse of Psalm 46 provides the account of the Lord giving a direct command to the Israelites in the face of fear and imminent danger “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10. Stillness is the absence of movement, action, or motion; this immediately takes my thoughts to the still waters that David used in Psalm 23:2 as an analogy for were the Lord leads His sheep He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

God knows where to lead us my friends, the waters of life that are choppy and rough, and appear unsafe, that often contain dangerous predators lying undertow (the enemy of our souls) are avoided; but He leads us beside the still water, where there are no obstructions, friction or turbulence; providing a safe environment to rest, drink, and trust in His divine care! Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

Has God given you a direct command to be still today? Stop, listen, and obey; we can rest in the assurance of His sovereignty, and love; knowing that regardless of the threat or unrest to our souls; the One who calms the raging seas, that Great Shepherd of the sheep… has us safe in His everlasting arms!

Blessings and peace-Be still and know that He is God!
