Follow in His Will

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.

Have you stop to pray today-and did you conclude your prayer with “in Jesus’ name?” Ending our prayers in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is not some magical ending that makes things happen; it is the release of our wills to the perfect and loving will of God. So, Jesus taught His disciples to say-“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10.

Think about it…how many times do we pray and ask God to work out our cares and concerns, order our steps in His will, and then we try to orchestrate things the way we “think” they should go? It is just human nature to  logically  see things from our own or even another’s rational perspective, and sure, it is with all good intentions…but God in His omniscience and divine providence has predestined the perfect plan for all of His beloved children from the foundation of the world. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew 25:34.

Seeing then, how God through His amazing grace has blessed us beyond measure…doesn’t it just make good sense to yield our will over to the leading of the Holy Spirit- our constant comforter, guide and keeper on this journey of life? John 16:13 gives evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in the life of all God’s children- “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

My friends, as new creatures in Christ, we walk by faith and not by sight; God leads the way…the question is will you follow-don’t miss your blessings by rationalizing and assumably following what seems right to you and others . . . God knows what He is doing, every mountain and every valley experience has a purpose; He is the One who holds the master plan; Greater days are ahead… “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10.

So I admonish you to follow in His will– then and only then can you cling to the promise found in Romans 8:28. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

God blessings of peace, joy, and love…remember that in His will is the safest place to be!
