Renewed Day by Day!
“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”2 Corinthians 4:16-17.
As a previous Principal I had many wonderful experiences, and then as with any profession or circumstances in life, those that weren’t so good. If you are an educator, you can relate to the day grades come out! I can recall during my early years as an administrator, all the principals were called to our Regional meeting…we were assembly around waiting, of course anxiety was high in the room- and the moment finally came, needless to say there were tears flowing everywhere…some from joy and some from sadness, but through it all we all embarked on the new year with a mindset to persevere, work just a little bit harder, praying to make a difference in the lives of the children and communities we served.
Certainly our experiences are varied and different, but for sure we all encounter the good and the bad. It would appear that we are all on a level playing field if you will allow me to say…sort of like the proverbial hamster, running around the wheel… on the same path day by day-but not so my friends!
The bible tells us that we are changing everyday… “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”2 Corinthians 4:16-17.
So, I ask you, where is your faith and trust in God- in the throngs of success and triumph…or in the valleys of despair and need of comfort and deliverance, or better yet in His divine will concerning all things towards you? “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2.
Being born-again, makes all the difference-for the child of God there is peace and assurance that whatever God allows it is intentional and is definitely working for our good!“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.
Oh my friends, do you believe these words from the Lord… “who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” 1 Peter 1:20-21. God has set things in motion before the foundation of the world!
His only begotten Son…Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came and paid the price for our sins…His resurrection has secured for all who believe in Him eternal life and a sure hope that is the anchor of our souls!
This is good news! It reminds us that God has only the best for those that love Him, and our lives are orchestrated by His divine will- absolutely nothing happens during our lives that He does not have direct control over, we can trust Him with the unknown future. “Trust in Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
So, let us walk in peace and renewed hope each day, God knows exactly what He’s doing and His plans for us are of good and not of evil…His amazing grace is what keeps us in and through it all… and when times get rough, as certainly they will – may the Holy Spirit help us to stop and place our focus on His goodness and mercy towards us all!
CeCe Winans sing these beautiful words in The Goodness of God:
‘Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God!
Blessings and peace…God is faithful-trust that He is doing a work in and through you for His glory!
