Take One Day at A Time

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34.

Have you ever watched a person in constant go mode-always anxious, unsettled and out right unhinged! Their thought process is bombard with getting to the next step as quickly as possible. But, let’s be brutally honest . . .  we all have been there and did that!

A sense of urgency is needed in circumstances that warrants that type of response…but allowing ourselves to run around like our hair is on fire every single day- in every decision that we make will ultimately bring stress, burnout, and if we aren’t careful, we will out right come apart!  but this should not be a consistent behaviour in the life of God’s beloved children..

The bible specifically tells us to in Matthew 6:34 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” We should not be worried and anxious about what tomorrow holds; but live each day to it is fullest seeking to fulfil our God given purpose.

Those anxious, fearful, and unsure attitudes are a plow of the enemy; he wants to unhinge and deter us in anyway possible from the will of God; whatever happened yesterday in failure or success…learn from it-seek God in prayer asking for the wisdom to see His plan in and through it all..“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8.

The hard question is…do you really believe that everything moves by the power of God? if so, then let go and let God have His perfect way in your life…He is teaching, growing, and strengthenig you according to His divine purposes… the book of James chapter 1:4 admonishes us “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

My friends…don’t live this precious life in distress…but take one day at a time, and remember that God is faithful to His promises; He has greater things in-store for all of His beloved children. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Let’s do our part by  listening and obeying where the Holy Spirit leads and when God says move…move!. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: ” John 10:27.

Absolutely nothing has or will happen outside the foreknowledge and divine providence of God, He has “fixed” it from the foundation of the world! So let us walk in the confidence and peace that only He can give- knowing that all is well “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.

Stay encouraged, trust in His promises and remember to  take one day at a time!

One day at a time, sweet Jesus

That’s all I’m asking from You

Just give me the strength to do everyday

What I have to do

Yesterday’s gone, sweet Jesus

And tomorrow may never be mine

Lord, help me today, show me the way

One day at a time
