Covered Under the Shadow of the Almighty
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1
A shadow can be defined as a covering or hoovering mask, an inseparable companion or follower. When we humbly submit ourselves to the will of our Heavenly Father, He will provide divine overshadowing in our lives…He is our inseparable companion now and forever.
In this present age holding tight to our faith is paramount…things seen, and unseen teaches us that it is impossible to walk through life’s ups and downs trying to figure out the next step. It is only through our trust in God that we find peace beyond what we can understand.
In this world we will face many things beyond our human ability to control; Psalm 23:4 (KJV) states: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Daunting circumstances arise in our lives, but we have the comfort of knowing that we are covered by the shadow of the Almighty; He is our refuge, strength, and our hiding place. “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5.
There is absolutely no one who can lovingly comfort our hearts and provide unfailing protection and deliverance like the Lord, has He ever promised anything and then not come through? I can testify that the answer in my life is absolutely NO! “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19.
We can lean on His strength regardless of what we may be encountering at the present time. He knows, He cares, and He will order our footsteps according to His divine will. So, even in the midst of fear and unsurety, let us run to the foot of the cross, clinging to the promise in Psalm 91:5 (KJV) “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;”
Our God, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, has authority over all things, He is the One who is able to provide all that we need. Today and always we can rest in the assurance of His abiding love which exceed all human logic and praise God, His amazing grace is truly sufficient…we are covered under the shadow of His wings!
There is no greater truth than this- God is, He love us, and He never fails… George Jordan wrote these comforting lyrics:
God Never Fails
God never fails
He abides in me, He gives me victory
For God never fails
You just keep the faith, and never cease to pray
Walk upright, Call Him day, noon or night
He’ll be there,
There’s no need to worry
For God never fails!
God blessings of peace and mercy be with us all.
