Our Shield of Protection Now and Forevermore!
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1.
The Greek word for angels is anggelos, which means messenger. As we travel along this journey of life, we are unable to see the next step, twist or turn that our path takes, but what a comfort in knowing that God, who orders our steps has dispatched His holy angels of protection to watch over all His beloved children. “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11.
Sometimes my friends we need to take a few moments and pull out our faith reports (testimonies of what God has done)- especiallly in our weakest moments….allowing them to be a constant reminder of God’s goodness, protection and promise to never leave us nor forsake us.
So, here’s another witness to the glory of God from the innumerable files of my personal faith reports… I pray that it will be encouraged, strengthen and give you peace in the power and protection of our Great and Almighty God . . even when it feels like you’re all alone- never forget He is closer than the very air that we breathe-covering, He is our shield of protection now and forever! “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4.
In a moment in a twinkling of an eye accidents happen out of nowhere; certainly we have all had our share; but I am so glad that God is faithful an omnipresent… He never ceases to cover us under His wings of love! As you may know-I have severe osteoarthritis in my lower extremities, and unable to bear much weight on my knees and right ankle, but I am very independent and continue on with life as though they all work just fine, during my first visit at the Tampa General Hospital on Davis Island… I found myself in a very unfamiliar environment: I left my car with the valet at the hospital and proceeded to my appointment, only to be told that I was in the wrong building, but no worries a shuttle would take me over across the Island to Bldg. 409.
The shuttle arrived, a small golf cart like vehicle and I assumed I was on my way…but, the driver stated, we do not go over to Bldg. 409, you will have to catch the employee bus over, what??? That is what immediately went through my mind…okay…ma’am you have driven me away from the entrance and back under some over path and now I have to stand here and wait on a bus?…needless to say when the bus came I had to get up those stairs…that didn’t happen, after the first step up, on the next moment I fell down to the knees and back…but thanks be to God…the people behind me with several men, caught me from falling back on my head to the street below, they were able to get me up and back to a bench.
I am sharing just to remind someone that God is faithful to every promise, we all have varied experiences…but the same God has promised that He would never leave us or nor forsake us- He is a shield of protection all around us…I may have been in a place around total strangers…but God was right there with me…those people did not have to shield me from falling back off that bus entrance to the street below…but GOD was working through the process, He was protecting me every step of the way; and the most memorable part of the incident to me was when the security car came to get me, there was a very attractive dark young women who appeared out of nowhere next to me, she said ma’am would you please let me help you get in there, there was a comfort in her tonality, touch, care, and smile that put me at ease-GOD’s angel of protection, ya’ll! “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2.
My mother would always reminded us that it is just nice to be nice, treat others the way you would desire to be treated…we have no idea, who you will need in this life; God sent His angels of protection to cover me that day in the form of oridinary people just like you and I-but caring about the welfare of another…and yes… praise God, I am confident that what I ever I must encounter in this life…He is still my shield and buckler every step of the way- my anchor holds and grips the solid rock-JESUS!
So, regardless to the circumstances or where we may find ourselves at this very moment in life… we are never alone…He will take care of us. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1. Let us rest in the loving and protective care of our Heavenly Father in and through all things …holding to His unchanging hands, knowing that we are safe in His everlasting arms! “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1.
