“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3.

There are many individuals who confess that they have never experienced God speaking to them; however, God knows how to reach all of His children. In times past, God communicated with man through revelation (God to man) and inspiration (guiding chosen writers to record His truth-man to paper), and now, He continues to speak through the illumination of His word, enabling all born-again believers to understand and apply His truth. Romans 10:17 states: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The Word of God enlightens us through the power of the Holy Spirit to guide, correct, and comfort us. God speaks to our hearts…but we must come before Him humble and willing to listen.

My friends, It  takes a submissive and open heart to seek the comfort of God’s directions, we must be willing to commit to a life of consecrated prayer, meditation and obedience to follow where He leads. God’s faithfulness- gives evidence that we can come and ask for what we need. Matthew 6:33 admonishes us “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Yes, God speaks to our hearts- it’s when we wholeheartedly cast all of our cares on Him. But, don’t forget that communication is a two-way street; we must call and then actively listen when He answers. Unfortunately, when we are unwilling to wait patiently on the Lord to answer- hastily wanting that immediate answer, we step into a danger zone; and that is exactly where the enemy of our souls wants us to be… his desire is to make us stumble, believing that we are alone and need to logically work things out our way.

But I am so glad about it, that Satan’s attempts to destroy our witness, peace and joy is to no avail, because God’s grace and mercy are great towards all of His children. Remember that God is faithful to His promises, He loves us and will always provide exactly what we need. He brings peace out of confusion, order out of chaos and light into the darkest of nights- He will speak so that you will understand. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” John 16:13.

So, this day let us run to the foot of the cross-He hears, listens and will answer! “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3. When we come trusting in His promises and power, He will speak to our hearts!
