And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Judges 6:15.

God can use anyone and anything to accomplish His will. However, oftentimes when God calls us to complete a task we stop and consider all our inadequacies as to why we can’t possibly get the job done! The truth is, God never ask us to do anything outside of His divine will and power. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Ephesians 3:20.

In the book of Judges Chapter six we find the account of one named Gideon. God called Gideon to deliver the children of Israel from the Midianites. “And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?” Judges 6:14.

However, Gideon could not see how he was capable of delivering the Israelites from anyone. But God simply answers, have not I sent thee? If God calls us to a task, He will equip us to complete it; never forget that the enemy of our souls that old serpent the devil is the one lurking around to undermine our trust and dependence on God. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8.

Here are a few things to remember when seeking to answer God’s calling in your life:

  • There is absolutely nothing impossible with Him. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.
  • We should never underestimate what God can do in and through us. He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,” Titus 3:5.
  • God has promised to be with us always.and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20b.
  • He will give us assurance and encouragement-His mercies are new every morning! “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23.
  • He leads us in the path of righteousness. “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3.
  • We can trust and depend on God to fulfill His every promise. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. ” 2 Corinthians 1:20.

Let us seek to be humble, and faithful to His call; If we truly believe that God is sovereign and has divine providence, we can hold to His promises, assured that He will give us the strength and courage to accomplish anything that He has set before us to accomplish. “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

God blessings of strength, peace, and courage!
