Don’t Set Limits on God

““Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.” Psalm 78:41-42.

We all know what a limit is-when we choose to put restrictions, boundaries or confinement on something or someone. And…unfortunately, there are times we even set limits on God- and you’re asking…how is that possible-and I point you to the times when  what you’re enduring seems so unbearable and even knowing where God has brought you from in the past…in that weakest moment, you ask-can you really do this God… this one is really big, of all the things that I could ever imaging…this one for exceeds them… and if you’re honest we’ve all been there…until reality snaps back in and the Spirit lovingly reminds you that there is nothing impossible with God!

The 78th division of Psalm gives us a great example of God’s chosen nation of Israel, once again-reverting back to unbelief… murmuring  about if God would truly be able to provide for and deliver them in the wilderness- even in the face of all the miraculous occurrences that they had already experienced, hadn’t God just brought them out bondage in Egypt-and when Pharoah had their backs against the wall at the Red Sea-didn’t God make a way out of no way…and yet they chose to place limits on the power of God. “Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.” Psalm 78:41-42.

Are you there…are you facing something that seems so big that you ‘re wondering if God will deliver-oh my friends… don’t limit God-He is the All Sufficient One-The Great Shepherd of the sheep and the Everlasting God with whom the Bible tells us in no varibleness, and just as He did for the Israelites- He prompts and answer from our souls, a reminder of who He is! “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” Isaiah 40:28.

How will you answer-do you really know who He is… I am a living witness that He is the Alpha and Omega, and no matter how rough the road or deep the valley-He will deliver His beloved children in His own way and time…why? Because there is absolutely nothing impossible with God-and He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us! “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.

So, even in the darkest of nights, the words of David in Psalm 23:4 brings peace and comfort to the heart: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

And if by chance you’re still having some doubts and fears-let the words of our Lord comfort you in knowing that He has you safe and secure in His everlasting arms because He has all power! “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18.
