Waiting on the Lord
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be, weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.“ Isaiah 40:31
Waiting is not an easy task…my mom would say “a watched pot never boils;” simply meaning that the more you contemplate and think about your desired outcome…the further away it appears. Time is an element that we have absolutely no control over; once it as passed it will never come back, and we cannot rush head into the future!
The fact is, we have no earthly idea what will transpire at any given moment-and for some, this is quite an unsettling thought-they are unable to deal with the unknown; failing to realize that we are all dependent on our giver of life-who is eternal in the Heavens and time is orchestrated by His divine will! “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” Colossians 1:16-17.
All of God’s children have the power within to walk this journey of life by faith. Hebrews 11:1 state “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We can face every tomorrow knowing that God is sovereign and holds the future in His powerful hands… our souls are anchored in the divine providence and unconditional love of Almighty God. Romans 8:28 reminds us “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
David wrote in Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” Having been a mere shepherd boy, he understood the role of a shepherd; one who protects his flock because he cares for his herd, his belongings. we belong to God and therefore we have value in His eyes. In John 10:11, Jesus states “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” What is it that you need today-healing in your body, mind, or soul? Gods got it-He will see you through!
So, this day…this moment, whatever it is that you must wait on, and through every trial and tribulation you must endure- you are not on this journey alone; settled it in your heart, that regardless of your present circumstances…God is faithful, just, and the God of all comfort. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Gods Blessings, peace, and strength to hold on…He’s coming through!
