Embracing True Peace in Times of Trouble
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
There are many things that are able to rock us at the very core of our being. Heartache and pain can render us totally depleted at times….our peace and soundness of mind seems to have momentarily escaped us…but when we belong to the Lord…we can embrace true peace, love, joy and His amazing grace right in the midst of our troubles. Yes, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!‘ Tears will certainly fall, but God shall wipe all of ours tears away!
Philippians 4:7 give us the assurance of the peace that we have in God “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” my friends, true peace that unburdens the heart, mind and soul can only be found in God-and how He does it is far beyond what our human minds can even conceptualize-that calm peace of spirit that says all is well, just suddenly happens!
This life is full of ups and downs, there is always sunshine and rain, but our lives are lovingly orchestrated by the omniscience of God-and even those circumstances that cut deep down in the soul… is a part of God’s Holy plan. I often say… that I may not know how to trace His hand-but I can certainly trust His heart!
Take comfort, because we are not in this alone…for He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. “for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13;5b. I ask you then…what is it that can separate us from His love… the word of the Lord give us the peace and assurance that there is absolutely nothing that can take His love away! “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39. The Lord is the lover and keeper of our souls!
So, no matter how dark the night…God’s great joy will come, because He hears the cries of His children; praise God that the prayer of faith opens the flood gates of Heaven! He will give us the comfort and peace that we need to hang in there just a little while longer- yes…He is faithful and His promises are true! “In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.”
Paul S. Morton, Sr. sings these comforting words to the soul- “Your Tears”
God blessing of peace and amazing grace be with us all!
