An Inward Transformation

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16.

Change is inevitable; we grow older every day. Infants are born dependent on their caregivers, but soon can crawl, walk, and feed themselves. Such is the process of life both physical and spiritual. The bible tells us about the spiritual transformation of a born-again believer in 2 Corinthians 4:16 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

The apostle Paul in the book of 2 Corinthians discusses the trials and afflictions that the brothers and sisters in Christ faced to walk in their calling and proclaim the gospel. It was not for their own sake, but for those that were coming behind, learning, and seeking to follow the Lord. “For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15.

God has given us the command to go out into this world and proclaim His marvelous gospel to the lost. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20. We are His workmanship, and we have a job to do!

The good news is that God is purposefully transforming us every step of the way, every growth spurt and experience favorable and unfavorable points to the goodness and grace of God! “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” God gets the glory, and His power is manifested through our good works.

Are you walking in your calling today– obedient to His will, and allowing His light to shine in and through you? Even though this outward man, our fleshly bodies, perish and endure life changes…the unconditional love of God that is transforming from the inside, can be outwardly seen by this dark world; giving evident of God’s amazing grace freely given to all who will accept Him as Lord and Savior.

Let us rest in the assurance that God is purposely transforming and renewing our inward man for His glory and our good day by day “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2.

God blessings and favor to all.
