Mark the Perfect Man

“Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” Psalms 37:37

The word mark in Psalm 37:37 admonishes us to observe, watch carefully and notice the actions of the perfect and upright man. The Thirty-seventh Psalm gives a vivid contrast between the wicked and the righteous; the perfect or complete and upright man is one who desires to please God and follow in His commandments; His choice to follow God, ultimately leads to peace. “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.”

In this life it does not matter what we have or will accomplish; the choice between following our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, oppose to Satan and the evil of this world is all that matters. We are unable to reach the status of completeness on our own. Romans 3:23 state “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” It is by God’s amazing grace through Jesus’ atoning blood on the cross that we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.

Perfection or completeness is not about doing right, if it was, then we failed way back in the Garden of Eden and are still lost in our sins . . . but, praise God it is about a right relationship with the Father who imputed righteousness unto us as a gift; it is all about God and none of us! Roman 5:17 state “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

So, what does the life of this perfect man look like again? It is when we choose to make Jesus our Lord and Master. Life takes us through a series of ups and downs; and to some that are faint of heart, an unbelieving, they choose not to follow the road less traveled; they cannot understand why bad things happened to good people; but the bible tells us that Job was characterized as this same type of man “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.”

Job lost everything that he had, his health, his family, his wealth… God allowed Satan to put forth his hand and touch all that Job had but his life and in the end the bible states that the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.  God is the divine orchestrator of all events…He is sovereign and Almighty; we may not understand all that He allows; but what we do know, regardless to what we encounter in this life; is that God loves us unconditionally and in Romans 8:28 we are reminded “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

As born- again believers we do not travel this road of life alone; we are indwelt with the Holy Spirt who comforts, guides, corrects, and gives us the peace that passes all understanding, and we are kept safe in Him until the day of redemption.

So, no matter how the unjust appear to prosper or how hard the challenges of life may seem; God has greater things in store for us “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Let us pray that the unbelieving will mark and take notice of God’s beloved children… because the end of our lives is ultimately peace eternal. . .  it is God’s desire that all men be saved; may the lost experience His marvelous light and come out of the darkness. God promises are faithful and true, we must follow where He leads!

Robert Frost ends His poem entitled The Road Not Taken as follows:

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

God’s blessing of peace and grace be with you always!

    Amen. The perfect man.
My daddy would tell me the story of Job. His story should feed the hearts of the non believer as much as the believer.
God is a just God, and we should never put anyone or thing above Him. Yes, love the Lord with all your heart.
    Be blessed❣️
    Thanks Sis.
