The Latter End

“So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” Job 42:12

We have heard it asked many times, why do bad things happen to good people; but the fact is God never promised us that we would have a life of ease and free from trouble. Job 14:1 state “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” The account of Job’s life gives us a wonderful example of God’s loving-kindness, protection, and amazing grace towards His beloved children in the midst of trials and tribulations.

God actually chose God to be tried by Satan, “His troubles began in Satan’s malice, which God restrained; his restoration began in God’s mercy, which Satan could not oppose.”- Matthew Henry. God is sovereign and orchestrates all things by the divine counsel of His will. Job was an upright man before God, he encountered the loss of all he had but his life. Things had gotten so bad that His own wife admonished him to curse God and die…but Job, through it all in patience and love, recognized God’s omniscience and omnipotence as his Creator. “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.” Job 42:1.

We may suffer the loss of many things in this life for the Lord; but we will never lose anything by him; there was a popular gospel song by the Miami Mass Choir entitled: It is for Me. The fact is that what God has for us, Satan and no one else can take it away. God has ordained the path for our lives from the very time that He said, “Let us make man!” We can rest assured that whatever happens in this life, what goes or what comes…God’s plan is best, and it will come to fruition in the end. Job 23:10 state “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

God brought Job through and gave him twice as much as he had in the beginning, it is certainly true, and I have lived long enough to testify that you cannot beat God’s giving! The devil cannot steal my joy or peace in God, what about you? Whether it is spiritual, physical healing or temporal blessings…God will faithfully give it to us, His precious jewels. “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” Job 42:12

What do you need today- healing in your body, mind or soul, a new home, restoration in relationships, a job…God has got it all, trust in His unconditional love and know that in the end His children will always have the victory!

What God has for me, it is for me,,

I know without a doubt,

That he will bring me out
