I Will Trust in the Lord

“They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Psalm 125:1.

To place our trust in something or someone denotes a state of mind and heart of total confidence; it is the belief that failure is not an option. The psalmist expresses that all those who place their trust in God can be liken to mount Zion which signifies His providential care, holiness, and unfailing promises forever. “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” Psalm 125:1.

When we faithfully yield over to the will of God and trust Him for all of life circumstances, He sheds comfort, peace, and confidence in our souls. It does not matter what we encounter, we have the assurance of knowing that we are held safe in our Masters’ hand forever, we cannot be moved… fierce winds my blow, though the dark clouds rise overhead, but praise God I have a Savior and He is sweet I know!

The words from an old negro spiritual resonates in my heart, I will trust in the Lord, till I die. That is a heart commitment to rest in the promises of God, living in the confidence that He is faithful and true to His Word forever. By His amazing grace He saves to the utmost and in that is a promise that even the demonic forces of Satan will ever prevail against. “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18.

Jesus is our rock, He is the Alpha and Omega and orchestrates every circumstance in this life past, present, and future. “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8.

We can rest in the assurance that God the Father, provides for all that we need now and forever, God the Son, manifested in the flesh, who has a name above all names…Jesus the Christ, has provided our way back to God and made restitution for all our sins on the cross, through His atoning blood we have the right to eternal life and God the Holy Spirit, is our comforter, guide and keeper, He is our guarantee that lives deep within our hearts, the assurance that we are never alone and that one day we have a heavenly home prepared over in glory!

What is going on in your life today – will you place it all in the hands of the Master and Captain of our souls? There is absolutely no failure in God, and He has promised to put no more on any of His beloved children then we are able to bear . . . trust wholeheartedly in the Lord and know that everything will be all right just as He has promised. “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” Jude 1:24-25.

To God be the glory!
