Will You Make a Difference?

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

How many times do you awake and have an extensive list of things that bombard your mind for the day? It happens to us all…but thankfully when my mind began to rush me into the day ahead, the Holy Spirit reminds me to stop, slow down, start over and begin where I need to…at the foot of the cross! I humbly bow and begin to thank and intercede to our heavenly Father for life, strength and to be effective in someone else’s life throughout the day.

It is the only by the grace of God that we even exist today. He alone is orchestrating us and this world. Sometime ago on the news, a young man, only eighteen years old, cried out in desperation to a caller… tell my mom I love her; then he placed his head down and the surrounding police commenced to shoot multiple times at his body. The following day he never saw.

Life is precious a gift from God. How will you live this day? It has brought a new beginning, a day that we have never seen and full of God’s promises of hope and peace. We choose how we face each day…we can live in pity, or we can walk in the power of God.

If we believe that He is sovereign and truly does order our footsteps, then we can see by faith all the potential this day has. We can seek to spread the love of God through our words and actions to all. The first community of Christians in the book of Acts 4: 32 were a phenomenal example of the Greek word koinonia which means to fellowship with . . . “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.”

We can make this world a better place by sharing and living out the Christ that lives in us…that is our job! Then, possible so many tears of mothers will not fall because for some unknown reason their children have given up hope and chose to die, rather than live. Again, I ask you, what will you do with this day- will you have influence in the life of someone? “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:16

Whatever our agendas are today, may they point someone to God’s love and amazing grace. In the book of Mark chapter four Jesus relates a parable of the sower and the seed. Will you be a receiver and giver of the Word today…someone just like that despondent young man, needs hope; our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is the only hope for this world today. . . “And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?” Mark 4:21.

Today is full of new opportunities to serve; let us start right where we are, charity begins at home and then spreads abroad. “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2. One day hopefully it is your desire as it is mine to hear Him say…well done thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of thy Lord.

Grace and peace be yours and

spread the good news…Jesus saves!
