Hindered Prayers
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:13.
God is always working behind the scenes; there are certainly times that we fall to our knees in prayer and wonder…Lord, did you hear me? There are numerous things that can hinder our prayers; but God hears, He knows and has divine providence over all that occurs in our lives. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13.
In the book of Daniel, the tenth chapter, we read of an incident where God sent a messenger to Daniel in the answer to his prayers. Daniel had been fasting and praying for three full weeks, can’t you imagine that Daniel was wondering if his prayers were getting through, just as we do sometimes? but after the twenty-fourth day he saw a vision of a heavenly being that literally took his breath and strength away; the messenger touched, and strengthened him, explained his delay and assured him of his mission to bring an answer from the Lord. “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.”
Did the angel need to explain to Daniel why he was delayed? Certainly not…but praise be to God it gives evidence of God’s divine providence over all things; especially the enemies attempt to hinder our prayers and His answers. There are those who refuse to believe in ministering angels, but the Word of the Lord reminds us in Psalms 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
The angel met with opposition, and God sent the arch angel Michael, one of the chief princes to assist him. “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:13. There are things going on in the spiritual realm that may hinder our prayers, that we have no idea about; but praise God that all things move by His power! “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” Colossians 1:16.
While Daniel was yet praying God was working…the Word of the Lord validates for us that the messenger was sent during the same exact time Daniel started to pray…God hears, He knows, and He answers! My friends, stay steadfast in prayer, trusting in God’s omniscience, power, and love; He is the same God today that He was over two thousand years ago… “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6.
Wherever we are, regardless of what we may be going through and even the opposition that we may be facing, seen and unseen …God is a ring of fire around us, protecting, enlightening, and giving us strength to hold on, because He will come through in due time “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Let us give Him all the glory…hallelujah, amen!
Oh, yes!!! Amen!!!
