Witness to the Power of God
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.
The song writer John Newton penned these words in the third stanza of the beloved hymn Amazing Grace: “Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home…”
I can attest to God’s goodness and power as He lovingly provided healing for me one Saturday morning over twenty – five years’ ago; I woke up extremely ill, the doctors in the emergency room stated that both my kidneys had failed to the degree that I would have to be placed on dialysis immediately… I was fearful and didn’t know what to expect, my mother was there with me, but she was unable to go in that dialysis unit with me… there are some things in life that only you and God can go through. So, I began to pray and recite the 23rd Psalm … especially taking not of the 4th verse: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” And God took me through not only that day of dialysis treatments, but one complete year of peritoneal dialysis in 1995 – 1996.
I am a living witness that God can and do perform miracles every day. After being placed on the transplant list in October of 1996, I received a call only two weeks later that a match was found… twenty-five years ago that was unheard of…as of today over 112,000 patients are actively on the organ transplant list. Every three minutes another name is added and as of this date the wait for a donor organ is approximately 5-10 years. Unfortunately, over 22 people die a day waiting on a transplant.
As bleak as the statistic may sound, I can witness to someone out there to not allow these numbers to startle you as though you have no hope…for our God. the Great I AM has all power and He can do the impossible!
The doctors stated when I went into surgery at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, that if it was not almost a perfect match they would come out without doing the transplant…I woke up on October 21, 1996 with a new kidney. .. nothing but the grace of Almighty God and I am still living with one functioning transplanted kidney today in 2022 by His power!
Is there anything too hard for God? NOTHING is impossible for my God to do! If you’re waiting today on your miracle…know that God has the power to provide just what you need in just at the right time. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.
We all have a story to tell; the greatest is of the One who sacrificed His life on Calvary’s Cross, rose from the dead and lives forevermore that we may have eternal life. God uses miraculous events in our lives to mold us into the vessels that He wants us to be…vessels that are mete for the Master’s use; eager to tell the story of our risen Savior and His power to do the impossible. Go out and tell your story today…be a witness to the power of God!
Blessing and peace for a great day and remember, God is never late…He is always right on time!
